Also, if any teacher marks an N or U for citizenship, that means you will not be earning the privilege to attend the trip and all text and library books must be accounted for.

The choices are: covering him in silly string, singing karaoke on the stage at lunch, he colors his hair red, or he wears a grass skirt and lei all day.

Girl's Inc ~ Today at Lunch. Girl's Inc will have a table outside to help answer questions and pass out applications for the summertime Eureka! program.  The program introduces 8th grade girls to the fields of science, technology, engineering and math. It will begin this summer with a four week camp at UCSB. It will continue with follow-up workshops through the school year focused on college readiness, college applications, financial aid, test preparation, and career exploration that may lead to alternative post-secondary education opportunities. The program will include campus visits to Long Beach State, UCLA, USC, UC Berkley and Pepperdine University. Eureka! encourages participants to pursue scholarships through Girls Inc. and other sources. It will also include paid internships focused on math, science, and technology. It is an awesome opportunity. Come by and check them out.

Library Talk ~ Time to turn in your page count for April.May is our last month for counting pages so let's kick it up. We will not make our goal of a million pages so Mr. Merritt stays dry again this year. We will be voting in a couple of weeks to see what activity he will be doing instead.

STAR Testing: Students: You will go to period 1 as usual then there will be a 10 minute break. After the break you RETURN to your period 1 class where you will take your STAR test.

This is your chance to show us all and the state what you have learned. Relax and focus. If you get tired during a test. Take a few deep breaths, wiggle your fingers and head and then get back to it. You will do a great job if you try hard. Good luck.

Hey all CMS students, join us Wednesday afternoon in the garden for our first harvest of vegetables (no, we will not be eating the baby chickens, just the vegetables). After some work in the dirt, we will be cooking up a meal. Anyone is still welcome to join!
